LOL! Maybe. There are a bunch of little groups in the Northwest and along the border who have been making succession noises for decades. The Jefferson Party has been re-energized along the California/Oregon border and they want to become the 51st state so they can dump Kali and all the spendy types in Salem.

At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

    Good one!

My mother actually encouraged me to read the book when I was about 11 or 12, but she made me take Judy Blume's Forever back to the library when I was 13. One is about a 17 year old girl's first sexual relationship, and the other is about a priest who falls in love with a little girl, waits for her to reach the age where it's legal before he screws her, then impregnates her and allows her pass his son off as another man's kid, so he can become a cardinal. When I saw the miniseries, I was in college. The only part I liked was Barbara Stanwyck as the mean old lady, tempting the priest with her money.

BRAVO! Thank you for that entire post. I salute you Sir.

Isn't that what the South wanted to do 145 years ago?

Get the libs running the next debate to bring this one up, Please! so John mcCain can compare it to the Weather Underground. Then, we'll let the American people decide.

The Alaskan Independence Party's goal is the vote we were entitled to in 1958, one choice from among the following four alternatives:
    1) Remain a Territory.
    2) Become a separate and Independent Nation.
    3) Accept Commonwealth status.
    4) Become a State.
The call for this vote is in furtherance of the dream of the Alaskan Independence Party's founding father, Joe Vogler, which was for Alaskans to achieve independence under a minimal government, fully responsive to the people, promoting a peaceful and lawful means of resolving differences

Interesting as this is, the actual platform of the party is essentially composed of conservative principles: smaller government, fewer regulations, access to state lands, RKBA, etc.

I have no problem with this. Where can I join.

"Libs running the next debate"? Were not and are not these events presented by organizations that invite both candidates, and those candidates accept the date, format and rules therein?

Tom Brokaw (confessed Dimocrat) screened all the questions for last night's debate. My question would have been along the lines of "Sen. Obama, if elected President, do you plan to visit Tony Rezsko in prison?, please elaborate."
