Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB

You should see the looks I'm getting...
And to make it worse, this is apparently the second cover I've broken.
NowI don't remember breaking the other one, I think she's messing with me.
I'll never live this down.
On the plus side, I may never have to empty the washer again!!!May the FORCE be with you!

He won't have to. In fact I've always preferred that he not do it.
I went to Replacements.com. They don't have it. Ebay has one for $280. The only other one is $180. I won't waste money on it. The problem is that it's the casserole that we use almost daily. And I've had it for almost 20 years. It's a Villeroy & Boch Naif pattern that's been discontinued for a long time.
Plus it goes with a setting for 12. I know that you can't just replace the lid. I've been trying for years to replace the lid that he broke on the casserole with my "good" china. It's Wedgewood, the Asia pattern that's also been discontinued for a number of years. Since that happened, I haven't used the china set.
I bought the miscellaneous Villeroy & Boch pieces at various Marshall's & TJ Maxx stores. I was on a mission to complete the set. I'd go to the stores between sales calls--used to sell office equipment to the feds. Many a lunch hour was spent scouting for just that extra piece. For the main things, the plates, gasp, I had to pay almost retail.
That's why I can't justify spending a ridiculous amount on the dish, even though I use it all the time, particularly in the microwave. It's oven to table, capable of being in the freezer, etc. Translated it's a super dish made by the good people in Luxembourg.
Yeah, SR is in trouble. I know he was just trying to help, but he's a guy who doesn't appreciate how good that china is and not all that careful. If they made a casserole out of paper plates, it would be a better bet.

Oh dear ...
Men and good china just don't mix!
SLR, give him a big hug, assure him that you still love him, but tell him to keep the hell out of the kitchen!!!
Better yet ... don't talk to him for the rest of the day, and leave him a note telling him to make his own dinner!Last edited by ABC; 02-28-2014 at 04:49 PM.

I often loose grip strength in my hands. I have had a lot of things hit the kitchen floor and break. Neck surgery helped a little, but it still happens.
