With all this snow in the upper mid-west so far, I wonder if FEMA has started planing for the inevitable floods along the Missouri, Ohio and Mississippi rivers when the thawing starts.

We'll have flooding in the usual places in Michigan. I hope downtown Grand Rapids doesn't flood like it did a few years ago-although, there were some pretty cool photos people took of fish swimming by their office windows. The Muskegon River floods if Consumers Power doesn't release water properly from it's dams.

Around Detroit, the Clinton River always floods, despite the numerous spillways and other flood control things that have been built to prevent it from doing so. The Rouge River tends to flood near it's source in Oakland County.
