Contrast in outcomes. Although I went to college, I never completed a degree. However, I've always found good paying employment, with a few bumps in the road. I bounced from job to job until I got into bread delivery. Did that for a while and made damned good money. By 1995 I was taking home nearly $1,000 a week in the summer months and even in my slow time(I had a shore route) I never made less than $500 a week. Now, as a C.O. I make $75K.

There aren't many fields that are hiring people right out of college, but one is and it pays well (unlike it did in the past): Nursing.
Even a 2 year LPN degree pays pretty well, but a BSN/RN degree pays very well these days, at least for nurses who work in hospitals. They (the RNs) can start out at around$50,000 a year, in some markets. A specialty nurse (surgical, nurse anesthetist, etc.) can make upwards of $80-90,000 at some hospitals.
