There's a certain charm to a football game played in the snow on a raggedy, chewed-up field — but baseball is supposed to be about sunshine and soft grass. Nobody ever waxes poetic about the frozen tundra of Fenway Park.

None of them are going to want spring training to end. Arizona and Florida are nice this time of year. Can't even imagine the permafrost.

Despite the awful long winter, we had a really nice day on Monday for opening day. It was sunny and around 55-60 degrees outside. Yesterday was nice, too. The Tigers won both games so far.
Comerica Park had to lay that sod in a hurry, though. They really had a very short opportunity between the ground thawing and Opening Day. If the ground completely thawed without some type of mechanical intervention, that is.
