Police: Teacher Attacked Over Witch Claim

FERNDALE, Mich. -- Ferndale police said an adult education student tossed liquid on a teacher because he believed she was a witch who needed to be purified.

Police said 20-year-old Darin Najor of Ferndale threatened the teacher last month at Taft Education Center a day after confronting her about Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," which focuses on the Salem Witch Trials.

Detective Ken Denmark told The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak that Najor says he was trying to purify the teacher with holy water. Denmark said Najor also had a lighter and wanted to, in his words, "burn the witch."

Najor is charged with assault and battery and faces an Oct. 23 hearing. He is free on bond.
Oh, who hasn't wanted to exorcise a teacher from time to time.

    It Got Better.

Just Holy Water doesn't work on the really tough old witches, you need the Whole Monte .What did he plan to burn her with just the cloths she was wearing. This kid needs to do some reading on exorcism and staking vampires .She should be boiled first

First you have to prove that she is a witch-since the holy water didn't sizzle and burn when it touched her, I'd say the floating test is next-if she sinks and drowns, she's innocent. If she floats, light the torches!

It's funny that this is in Ferndale, a Detroit suburb known for it's tolerance and liberality. They also have the best adult education program in the area, so the people attending it are not necessarily from Ferndale.

Stand up for what is right, even if you have to stand alone.
