    Ah well...

Study Links Viagra to Skin Cancer
    http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/17009/

The blockbuster erectile dysfunction drug Viagra has been linked to an increased risk of skin cancer in a new study published in the Journal of American Medicine that examined 26,000 men.

The risk of melanoma increased by 84% among men who took the drug.

However, scientists involved emphasized that the results of the study are preliminary and men taking Viagra do not necessarily need to stop taking the drug, pending further studies that researchers hope will clarify the initial findings.

“But people who are on the medication and who have a high risk for developing melanoma may consider touching base with their primary care providers,” said Abrar Qureshi, co-author of the study and chair of the dermatology department in the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

    LOL!

I wonder if viagra causes the melanoma or if it impacts the melanin in the skin so that it can't resist the negative effects of sunlight.

    Oh Mercy!

Let me see now ... Viagra, melanoma, sunlight, sunscreen, not to mention those possible 4 hr. problems that you hear about ...

Wouldn't it be better to NOT fool around with Mother Nature in the first place?

Every pharmaceutical has some kind of side effect. My guess is that most guys would consider skin cancer a mild risk for the benefit of having working parts.

Their wives, however, might beg to differ.

Interestingly enough the first use of Viagra was not as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, it's effect on erectile tissue was a side effect.

Viagra is now being used for cardiovascular issues as well.

Of course that is what some doctors are claiming when a patient is trying to get it covered through the county's medication program. I seen a guy pick up $1600 in free pills. He was doing the happy dance when he was able to pick up the balance. Viagra is very expensive.

Sounds like the Nutrasweet (aspartame) story. It's first purpose was not to sweeten but as a pesticide. Charming, eh?

Well, yeah. It's the end result of man's search for lost virility from time immemorial. It's the holy grail, and it costs like one.
