ACORN's intents were undoubtedly fraudulent, but a registrant would use a name that wasn't so blatantly obvious if he personally intended fraud.
I would guess that some people that Acorn tried to sign up knew the process was fraudulent and used fake names to avoid personal visits from law enforcement officials. Some of these probably used names that would signal the fraud to observers. I would think ACORN would steer clear of conservatives knowing they might sabotage their effort in this fashion.
