What Conservatives Fear Most Is a Well Educated America
Conservatives are terrified of a well-educated populace, and for over a year the terror du jour is Common Core that the great majority of conservative Christian fear-mongers have little-to-no comprehension of what it entails. However, what they think they know is that because it was introduced while the Black man is President, it must be another inherently evil plot to transform their children into homosexuals, radical feminists, Nazis, Socialists, and mindless zombies. Conservative Christian children are already mindless zombies being taught that Stone Age humans kept and rode flesh-eating dinosaurs just prior to loading them onto a wooden ship to ride out a 40-day flood when Old Testament god exterminated all life on planet Earth; save Noah and his immediate family, but that is another story.

Liberals are all about dumbing down America with common core, junk "science" like global warming, insisting that a myriad of social topics be included in education while skimping on math and science. Liberals own the US education system in all it's deficiencies.

But true to form, when they, to some, are failing (the education system is a failure for all except motivated students), and to others succeeding, (because that is their goal-dumbing down the US,) they blame WHAT THEY ARE DOING on Republicans.

    2. It is much easier to sway the dumb population with propaganda

But at some point even the dumb will rise up.

    3. by Common Core I would say many dems also

keep em dumb and dependant, the ptb's need serfs
I couldn't have said it better. Democrats WANT dumb and dependent because the only way they keep their voting bloc is to make they dependent on government.

    From the above linked article:

At a public hearing last month on a bill to allow school districts to opt out of Common Core standards, a knuckle-dragging Tea Party leader told Alabama state senators that Common Core promotes “acceptance of homosexuality, alternate lifestyles, radical feminism, abortion, illegal immigration and the redistribution of wealth.”
For leftists it's all about getting acceptance, nay, celebration of the immorality they wish to not only embrace but force on children of conservatives.

Common core is another liberal/government controlled Trojan horse. People need to open their eyes and see not just what's going on in front of them, but the hidden agenda behind this intrusion.
Obama isn't the problem. The problem is an electorate that would vote a man like him into office.

That was certainly a well thought out discussion.

A well-educated America would be great, unfortunately what the DemonRats and the education biz professionals want is not that, but a well-indoctrinated America.

I have to wonder about that OP's handle. 'Doxydad' - I hope he means he's just a little bit too attached to a dachshund, and not that he's proud of the fact his daughter is a whore.

Yes, I am afraid of a well educated America.....one that has been indoctrinated by a liberal/progressive/communist school system.

Have you seen any of the criticisms of Common Core? Some of it is just plain inappropriate--like logic problems concerning infidelity that is aimed at 4th or 5th graders (I have forgotten which.) The math is confusing!! Rounding up, then rounding down, doing a one-step problem in about 6 steps. Can't imagine how parents can help kids with those problems. The content is essentially left-wing, which I'm sure is just fine with the NEA.

As someone else has said, this isn't about education; it's about indoctrination.

Specific examples? I have heard thousands of times about this left wing propaganda BS and no one ever shows me an example of something actually taught in a school and that utube of a teacher talking about the kids had to know the means to solve the problem, and the right answer, but the right answer part was edited out. Do you have any examples of inappropriate material that was actually taught in a school because of common core? Have you read what Common Core standards really are anywhere outside the RW noise machine?

    Yes, I do.

Here’s a transcript of one of the questions, as provided by the station:

Ruby sat on the bed she shared with her husband holding a hairclip. There was something mysterious and powerful about the cheaply manufactured neon clip that she was fondling suspiciously. She didn’t recognize the hairclip. It was too big to be their daughter’s, and Ruby was sure that it wasn’t hers. She hadn’t had friends over in weeks but there was this hairclip, little and green with a few long black hair strands caught in it. Ruby ran her fingers through her own blonde hair. She had just been vacuuming when she noticed this small, bright green object under the bed. Now their life would never be the same. She would wait here until Mike returned home.

Why is Ruby so affected by the hairclip?
How has the hairclip affected Ruby’s relationship?

This is a link to an article with excerpts from a political survey given to 6th graders. Besides totally distorting conservative positions, it is completely unfair to expect 12-year olds to label themselves politically, and is even more outrageous to expect them to assess their parents' political opinions. I would paste the excerpts themselves, but I'm not sure how.

there are many, many other criticisms out there. I just don't have time to list them all.
