Why does the media across the board so desperately want Mccain to win?

I mean a lot of them come from humble beginnings like Senator Obama did. They weren't all born Paris Hilton rich. They should have an understanding of just how bad things are right now because of GOP rule. Following it every day, you think that they'd be terrified at the breathtaking declines on the Dow. You think that they would remember the 5,000 young american men and women who died in Iraq for unjust cause. Sure Roger Ailes, Tom Brokaw and the execs at the top of Time Warner/ABC-Disney could care less but you would think that the reporters would be different. Any ideas why? What really bothers me is that I've watched 4 presidential campaigns now and they've been harder on Senator Obama
, in my opinion, than any presidential candidate in the last 4. Maybe it's racism? Terrified of seeing an AA in the White House?
I think back to President Clinton. I think the media was tough on him sure but they pushed hard during impeachment that the GOP was just doing it in a power grab and that no high crimes and misdemeanors really took place. Their coverage probably led to the Democratic congressional gains that year which led to the downfall of the speaker of the house. And, in 2006, with Foley, Bob Woodward's state of denial book and the Iraq war, the media provided very favorable coverage of the democrats trying to take back congress.
But, this year, they've been going 24/7 at each opportunity to smear Obama and are doing all that they can to destroy him
(especially now). What I would like to know is why. It's ridiculous. They've treated him more unfairly than any democratic nominee since Dukaksis and yes that includes Gore and Kerry IMO.
I'm so mad right now.
