A judge in Australia has been criticised after saying incest may no longer be a taboo and that the community may now accept consensual sex between adult siblings.
Judge Garry Neilson, from the district court in the state of New South Wales, likened incest to homosexuality, which was once regarded as criminal and "unnatural" but is now widely accepted.

Just want to point out a small point.

You can marry your cousin in some states, some of which forbid gay marriages. Go figure.

Even with all of my children, from different genetic backgrounds, I would not allow them to marry each other!
My wife and I laughed at the fact, that when we married, she had 2 sons and 1 daughter, and I had 2 daughters and 1 son.
With absolutely no genetic connections, they could have paired up, sure.
Would I have condoned it? No.
Granted that they would have known their spouses better than most couples could hope to know each other!
Still, it is too close to incest for this old-fashioned Dad.

The Catholic Church has had limitations on how far distant your cousin must be for you to marry him or her. 1st cousins were too close; however if you're 4th cousins, that's ok. There are a whole bunch of little European villages that wouldn't have marriage at all if you couldn't marry 3rd and 4th cousins.
However, incest within immediate family is another matter altogether. Note the comparison to homosexuality in the OP. When GLBT types say that their ability to marry doesn't affect straights, give them a stick of butter and tell them to coat their arguments with it: that way they can see exactly how every other evil can use their arguments as a quick slide down into the abyss of child abuse and societal devolution.

They love each other and deserve the same tax breaks.
Nah, no one ever thought that two brothers or a brother and sister or a father and daughter would ever be allowed to marry. No one except anyone that could put 2 and 2 together. Oy.Be Not Afraid.
