Have You Taken Your Obama Loyalty Oath?
    Or do you hate America?
    http://thefederalist.com/2014/08/05/...-loyalty-oath/

Jonathan Alter at the Daily Beast has an idea that will infuse the president’s “economic patriotism” rhetoric with some bite: Compel companies to take “loyalty oaths” to prove their patriotism.

You may find this suggestion a little creepy, maybe even a little fascistic; but Alter says that “it’s time for red-blooded Americans to take matters into our own hands.”

And by taking the matter into “our” hands, Alter means that President Obama would unilaterally bar any company that practices “inversion” – corporate merging with foreign firms to save on U.S. tax bills – from doing business with the federal government. Companies that follow the administration requirements will earn a government seal of approval. If you act “un-American” and fail to recognize your “real interests” and those of the United States – which are, naturally, indistinguishable from the president’s agenda – you will be shunned and your business punished.

You will be powerless to stop it.

That’s because efforts to stop desertion aren’t populist or socialist but nationalist, a much more powerful force in American politics. Unbridled nationalism is a menace; it leads to trade wars and, all too often, real wars. But properly channeled, nationalism and patriotism are matters of the heart that cut to our deepest ideas of who we are.

Ah, properly channeled nationalism. You see, when you do it it’s just a bunch of dangerous jingoist rubbish. When we do it … America! And after five years of conflating patriotism and left-wing economic policy, you are expected to treat a completely legal tax designation as an attack on the homeland. Unless, of course, you’re a seditious weasel who’s betting against America....

Excuse me?! Corporations fulfill their civic duty when they provide an honest product or service at the price their customers are willing to pay, without endangering the community or being a nuisance (in the legal sense, not some political commentator's pretzellated interpretation of the term). And corporations don't pay taxes, their customers do, with the corporation being the tax collector.

This is rich. We have a president and many members of congress who are ignoring our immigration laws and putting the needs of illegal aliens before the needs of legal American citizens and we are to expect private corporations to pledge their loyalty to this country. Pot meet kettle.

The Fortune 100 company that I work for is one of the companies Obama was attacking on television and it's home base is in Illinois. He was basically encouraging a national boycott. The company's facebook page filled up with spam fill hate, under ever topic.

They are now a global company, they should be free to locate as they see fit.

Obama did not seem to mind when all the manufacturing jobs went overseas and across the borders. That was a loss of payroll tax. It's getting to expensive to have your headquarters in Illinois, near Chicago to be exact and remain competitive.

This company continues to be voted as one of the best companies to work for, one of the best places for women to work, one of the best places for single moms to work, best places for homos to have gay sex on lunch and all those other awards.

In fact Tuesday night I just had a visit from the district office, about my career path with the company. I was pretty humbled. In fact it was two visitors, and they are pretty high up on the food chain......one gave me a hug when seeing me, and yes she is female. They both hugged me when they left. I lead by example.

My first day back to work after being off due to a couple of foot fractures resulted in a pretty impressive call about my customer service on top of my sales performance that broke a store record for the day, a district record for the week, (around 80 stores) and made us number one for the week. It felt great to be recognized. My boss was gone when all this happened, in fact she was freaking out when she heard they were there and talking to me, as she pretty much sucks.
