    A few years ago, there were some pro-Hamas demonstrations in front of the federal building in
    Detroit. Then, a pro-Israel faction started protesting there, too. I drove by on Michigan AVE once, and on the east side of the building, there was a large group holding Palestinean flags, and an equally large group were on the west side of the building holding Israeli flags. In the middle were a group of what appeared to be regular Americans (probably liberal UCC members or something) holding both flags.

    Luckily, it was all fairly peaceful.

    I do think you can protest for Palestinian rights without it being pro-Hamas. Problem is it's often the extremists organizing this stuff.

    what a bunch of morons to stage an anti-Israel protest in the diamond district. What did they expect the outcome to be?
