LOS ANGELES — Smile, “Candid Camera” is making a comeback.

Starting Monday, TV Land will air a new version of the hidden-camera show that first debuted in 1948.

The 10-episode series is produced by Peter Funt, son of the original show’s creator and host, Allen Funt.

Peter Funt will co-host with Mayim Bialik of “The Big Bang Theory.”

In its first week, “Candid Camera” will air at 7 p.m. CDT Monday through Thursday. The show will then air weekly on Tuesdays, starting Aug. 19.

Hope I can remember to watch this. I really enjoyed the original especially when Allen "jumped in the lake".

The original "reality TV". I wonder how the format and content will change.

    I watched one episode ...

I give it at least 10 thumbs down. Completely juvenile, unfunny, and sleep-inducing.

Other than that, was extremely entertaining!

The original show used to have great videos of little kids saying hilarious things.

One of the funniest shows I ever saw was in the adult/HBO version of it (Candid Candid Camera, I think was the name). The crew set up a nude news show to be shown in a hotel that specialized in senior guests. They interviewed people coming out of the hotel and asked them if they watched the news show and what they thought about it. Most of them liked it.
