George H.W. Bush was hospitalized on Tuesday after experiencing what a spokesman called a "shortness of breath."

Bush, 90, was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital Tuesday evening as a precaution. The former president will remain there under observation.

It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, 90, was released from a Houston hospital on Tuesday after a weeklong stay brought on by breathing difficulties, his spokesman said.

"President Bush was released from the Houston Methodist Hospital today," spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement. "He is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care."

What a good man. You won't hear the word "grateful" coming out of Carter's mouth, ever. 41 is a class act, as is the entire family. He has served as a good example to his family and to the country. God bless him, so glad that he's at home now.

He looked really frail in the photo I saw on the news. I hope he's improving. This is the guy who celebrated his 80th birthday by jumping out of a plane!

Well, nw, I thought you had that incorrect, but I was wrong, sort of. G. H. W. Bush did celebrate his 80th birthday with a skydive, as you posted. And his 85th. And his 90th (which is what I remembered reading about).
