Appointment with cardiologist at 0945 today. No problems - just routine.

Nothing at a Cardiologist is routine even when it is. I went in at 8:30 am with some minor angina, had a heart cath at noon and a pacemaker by 7 pm.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Roughly the same here. Echo-cardiograms been sliding downhill for several years. Then after almost passing out, I wake up the next day with a cardioverter-defibrillator.

No problems with the cardio today. Next appointment in 9 - 12 months, entirely up to me.

Very good news. So.... What symptoms are there that generate the need to visit him?

Non-alcoholiic Cirrhosis causes decreased liver enzymes (genetic), Stage 2 Diabetes, low platelets, I'm 73 years old, health OK but not excellent, dizziness, misc. other things. My primary wants him to check up on me periodically.

    Watch your language there!

I agree with your primary. I'll be 73 next month and have had my heart problems most of my life. They were finally diagnosed in my late 40's when an angiogram in the ER found a spike and the tech started hollering about a heart attack. I sat up on the gurney and looked around to see who it was. The tech was pointing at me. He apparently had never seen hypertrophic cardiomyopithy.
