#1 Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.? Fair enough.
10-20-2008, 12:03 PM
Got this in an Email this morning. I don't know if it's actually by Buchanan, but very true nonetheless.
Buchanan to Obama
by Patrick J. Buchanan
Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.?
Fair enough.
But this time, it has to be a 2-way conversation..
White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.
This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions,
grievances and demands heard.
And among them are these:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black
folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from
Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million,
were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the
greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he
is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up
blacks than white Americans.
Untold trillions have been spent since the '60's on welfare,
food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants,
student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax
Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the
African-American community into the mainstream.
Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged
in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action,
contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants
over white applicants.
Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals
all over America have donated time and money to support
soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and
nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances.
Where is the gratitude??
Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks.
Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown , and ask the white kids
in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League
recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids?
Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime
and incarceration rates for African-Americans are 7 times
those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that
illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70%
and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities
has reached 50%?
Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a
failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial
crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence.
Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals
choose black victims 3% of the time, black criminals
choose white victims 45% of the time?
Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times
more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies
were 139 times as common in the first 3 years of this decade.
We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about
Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena
And all turned out to be hoaxes.
But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites
that are real, we hear nothing.
Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before,
about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

Why are conservatives so obsessed about race? Everything is race this, race that. Powell only supported Obama because he's black!
Sorry, but this isn't a "race" election, since there are plenty of white people (like myself) who will be voting for Obama.
So once again, YAWN

At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

First of all, I don't give a shit who Colin Powell endorses. I don't make my decisions based on what someone else tells me.
Second of all, the point of the OP is that conservatives are tired of having race thrown up in our faces every time we don't agree with a black liberal point of view. We 're tired of being lectured about racism in America as if it's a one way street. Yes, there are some racist ass people in this country, but the people who don't tiptoe around race don't deserve to be lumped into that category.I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. ACORN announces that calling them on their registration and voter fraud is racict because they represent the poor black people. Libs declare any thing said about Obama, even positive things like daring to call him clean and articulate is racist. Most terrorists are young males of Middle Eastern descent, but if a young male of Middle Eastern decent is acting suspicious, doing anything about it is racist, according to the libs and moonbats. 90% of the illegal immigrants in this nation are Hispanic, so doing anything about closing the sieve we call a border is racict. And if a conservative complains about it, WE are the ones who are all about race? Libs can turn anything into race, and they work very hard at it.

The 21st century. The age of Smart phones and Stupid people.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

We should have had something in place to prevent a criminal like Franklin Raines from causing perhaps the worst financial crisis this nation has ever seen.
Oh, what's that you say? Franklin was a good CEO just because he wasn't white? Certainly a lot of Democrats thought he was a saint, and they wouldn't lie, would they?

A conversation with you reminds me of a story from a long time ago. I was severely drunk, and telling a story, and excused myself for a moment to hit the head. I turned around, tripped, and planted the door frame right between my eyes. It created a very similar feeling.
