adding new bookmarks they don't display. Is there a setting
I need to turn on or something??
My office thankfully has not upgraded to W10. Much of the programs we use are web based. Was helping a dear friend on her laptop, and it stinks. She lost all her bookmarks, and I tried to use it recently and it was so slow. And it keeps disconnecting her WiFi/printer. Ridiculous.

When I upgraded SLW's laptop and my desktop in FL I was able to import
the WIN 7 bookmarks ok. It's just this NEW PC, there has to be a way to
    display the new ones.

OK, looks like using the Unsorted Bookmarks off of Bookmarks
gives me most of what I need...

Cool. I'll try that on my friend's laptop as well.

Looks like I get in the arena with the lions this week. On the wife's desktop.
After she does her banking, I'll start the process by imaging the machine first.

The Missus' machine went well except for hiding IE which is her primary browser. Finally, thanks to Google Hangous, I found it again and gave her a shortcut.

Then her laptop starting acting screwy on a very irregular basis so she asked me to update it. It did not go anywhere near as smoothly. Most of 24 hours later, after several kill stops (power button hold down) it now seems to be doing ok - maybe. We'll know more in a week or so.

Then...... Tonight my laptop told me it was going to update in 41 minutes. I did every thing I could to stop it and. It supposedly let me put it off til Sat night.

    HA!

30 seconds later it rebooted and started the update. It did go fairly quickly and seems to be working correctly but I'll never trust MS again.

I should have just shut it down when it started this %#*{}~<€£¥

All of mine did well except my newest one a dell laptop and no matter what I do it wants to scroll to the bottom of every page no matter what you are doing, I think it's the touchpad driver.

Ya know, it really matters not how well they may or may not have went. This was supposed to be optional on my timing, not a forced issue any damn time they got ready. I was preparing to spend a couple of hours doing some research on a paper I'm co-authoring and it don't work worth a damn on an iPad. I ended up having to babysit this machine while it went thru the procedural steps so I could opt out of each and every "opportunity" MS wanted to use to collect private info that was none of their business.

I never did get windows 10 to work right on the Dell laptop, it is a 1000 dollar machine and I finally gave up and said to hell with windows and put Linux on it, it works good so far, I installed the Chrome browser.
