I remember bank lining on a river called the Wapsipinicon or Wapsi as we called it. You would get hatches of insects called millers at night and with the bright light we used to spot the bank lines you would get swarmed. You would always get a good helping of them in your mouth and up your nose. On top of that when we couldn't find a good bank in an area we would tie trout lines to low hanging branches. It never failed they were always full of spiders so when the boat drove up you would get pushed right into branches full of spiders. I am not sure if it caused or cured phobias. :D
