Holy **********. I have an uncle who I've always known wasn't "quite right". I just got off the phone with him. I was inviting him to Thanksgiving because I thought it was the proper thing to do. Ummm, yeah. That was a bad phone call. Do y'all have crazy relatives?Loyalty Binds Me- Motto of Richard III

Sadly, yes. Once I got to be a card-carrying adult, I gradually disassociated myself from the most highly destructive and insane members of my family (or so I thought). I lapsed at one point and let a cousin live in a house I was renovating. It was supposed to be a win/win. I got a live body on the scene to mow the grass and make sure the pipes didn't freeze, he got a couple of months of rent-free living while he was between destructive homosexual relationships.
Let me put it this way: you guys joke about tinfoil-hat people but I had to get the Sheriff to break into a house I owned, pry the nails from the doors and windows, remove the actual tinfoil covering the windows, electrical receptacles, and plumbing fixtures, while physically extract my deranged and combative cousin with the help of a canine officer.
Now, that's entertainment.

All of my maternal relatives, including my mom, are crazy. It's easier to count the sane ones, in that family. My maternal grandmother's brothers were pretty sane, though. One was a Sea Bee in WWII and later a cop, and the other was a trucker. They were cool and fun, and could be counted on to break up the fights between my maternal grandfather's brothers (and, later, their offspring) at family weddings and funerals.
My mom said that when she was a kid, they would have Christmas dinner at my grandpa's mother's home. Every Christmas, my grandpa's brothers would get drunk, fight and it would end when one or both fell down the stairs.
