Invest 99-L, a tropical disturbance pushing toward the Bahamas, is expected to develop into a tropical depression or storm, and will likely target Florida and the Gulf Coast this weekend into next week.

Right now, Invest 99-L remains a broad area of low pressure pushing through the southeast Bahamas.

Multiple Hurricane Hunter reconnaissance missions have flown through 99-L the past few days, but have been unable to find a tight, consolidated surface low pressure center that would have prompted the initiation of advisories for Tropical Depression Eight or Tropical Storm Hermine.
We'll be keeping an eye on this for sure as we're supposed
to be heading back down to FL next week for a while to
do some work and doctors appts.

This may change/delay our return to FL depending
on how strong it gets and where it goes. The Gulf
is warm so unless it runs into a lot of wind sheer
    I'm guessing it'll be a hurricane soon.

We'd be sneaking in from Missouri but ya just
    never know...
May the FORCE be with you!

Local prognosticators do not believe it will achieve hurrykane status but expect heavy, heavy rain.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

And as of now is scheduled to pass right over Jacksonville on Friday... sweet. We need the rain.

Anyone feeling the effects of Hermine yet?

We have delayed our trip back to the Pensacola
area till after it pulls up out of FL.

Even though it isn't supposed to be near us I'm
glad I put up our hurricane shields before we
    left!
May the FORCE be with you!

Damned shame you can't send it to San Diego.
