I'm glad that a "real" dog won this year. Usually the greyhounds never even place in the hound group. That was a beautiful grey.

The show greyhounds have that long, elegant neck. They are registered in the AKC. The racing greys, like we have, are registered with the NGA (National Greyhound Association). Usually the racing greys look almost like a different breed, as they generally have shorter necks and are a bit more compact and more heavily muscled.

It's tough to even find a show greyhound to buy. There aren't many bred for the pet trade. Most of the greys you see as pets are rescues.

Yep. Hundreds and hundreds of racing-veterans.

It's about time a greyhound won.

My mom's bf in Sebring breeds them, races them, and rescues them. It'll be interesting to get his take on the win.
