I'm having rotator cuff surgery in 2 weeks and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this surgery. I'm expected to be out of work for 4 months so I'm glad to have additional disability insurance to go with the state disability so I shouldn't miss a beat.

Good luck with it. A friend had it and she did well, but almost didn't have it done because of all the negative stories she heard from others. She was glad that she went ahead and did it.

I had problems with my rotator cuff some years ago and it still bothers me from time to time, but going to physical therapy helped. My greyhound spooked in a parking lot and jerked my arm and pulled me down.

Glad you have the disability insurance to cover.

I have had both shoulders replaced. The first one I was out for 8 months. They (Kaiser) gave me a lot of pain medicine, a fancy chiller and weekly physical therapy. The second was done by an old Polish Doctor, no pain meds, he did not believe in physical therapy either, and I was back to work in four months.

One of my HS classmates had that several years back and I swear she never slowed down

Women have less of a problem, because no one ever told them they would go blind if they kept that up!

I would imagine it all depends on the surgeon.

    with minimal pain.
