If this has anything whatsoever to do with Black Lives Matters it is time to have the Feds involved and invoke the RICO statute.

Two Hispanic home burglars caught in the act by two officers. Shots fired. One suspect dead, the other still at large. One officer has a single wound in the leg and will be released tomorrow.
The second is on critical condition but no details released re: what damage was done.

New Soros backed DA making left wing noises.

    From behind the Chronicle paywall:

Cortez, 49, who has spent nearly 24 years with the Houston Police Department, was shot three times.
"His condition has improved some but he is still in critical condition," said Dr. David Persse, the city's EMS physician director. Cortez is awake and talking, including with his wife.

    Good indications.

BTW - You see a Hispanic dressed all in black wearing a blue bandanna, call the cops.

    Again from the paywall:

Cortez, a 24-year department veteran with more than 4,000 hours of law enforcement training, was hit three times, including a shot to the back that left a bullet lodged near his spine, according to police sources. Though his injury is critical, he has been able to speak to his wife and other visitors, officials said.

His condition has improved some, but he is still in critical condition, said Dr. David Persse, the citys EMS physician director.

Muoz, a 10-year HPD veteran, was shot in the foot, but his injury was not life-threatening, officials said.

    Continued:
The two police officers who were shot Tuesday are veterans of HPD:

Ronny Cortez, 49, is a 24-year veteran of the Houston Police Department and was certified a master police officer in 2009. He has logged more than 4,400 hours of training, including in various roles related to tactical and crisis operations. He recompleted tactical firearms training in November.

Jose Muoz, 34, is a 10-year veteran of the Houston Police Department. He has spent his entire law enforcement career with the department, graduating from HPDs academy in 2007. He has logged more than 2,000 hours of training in his career, including tactical firearms training, which he recompleted in November.
