WASHINGTON Ė Then-Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., spoke twice last year with Russiaís ambassador to the United States, Justice Department officials said, encounters he did not disclose when asked about possible contacts between members of President Donald Trumpís campaign and representatives of Moscow during Sessionsís confirmation hearing to become attorney general.
One of the meetings was a private conversation between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that took place in September in the senatorís office, at the height of what U.S. intelligence officials say was a Russian cyber campaign to upend the U.S. presidential race.
The previously undisclosed discussions could fuel new congressional calls for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Russiaís alleged role in the 2016 presidential election. As attorney general, Sessions oversees the Justice Department and the FBI, which have been leading investigations into Russian meddling and any links to Trumpís associates. He has so far resisted calls to recuse himself.
Well, this throws a wrench into the works. Now we have to ask will Sessions survive as AG after this. And how will this affect the Trump admn. after this revelation.

Sessions wasn't a part of the Trump campaign. And he was a sitting senator. Not that unusual.Deplorably Proud To Be An American

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

Boring. Irrelevant. Not the Campaign. Doesn't disclose means wasn't asked.

Because he endorsed Donald Trump that means he is supposed to stop all his responsibilities as a senator and the committees he serves on, RIDICULOUS!

Snakes on a Plane
This has set the precedent, no need for any investigations ever again.".............Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Sessions was Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. -Yet they're not gunning for him on 'Senate matters' ???
Only for a Presidential-campaign... in which there was no assurance the candidate would even come close to winning.

If he was asked about contacts with the Russians during his confirmation hearings and he failed to mention his private meeting it could be considered lying under oath and grounds for removal from office. I hope this works out for Sessions but I suspect that libs will not let this go so easily.Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
