The Washington Post was caught changing headlines to better fit their narrative the other day. And they claim that MSM is not biased? Washington Post’s policy writer Caitlin Dewy wrote a piece on illegal aliens in America pragmatically canceling their food stamps for fear that they would be caught under President Trump’s tighter immigration policies. So, to clarify, people who have crossed our border illegally, then applied for benefits from tax paying US citizens (in this case, decided that the country should buy them food), have started to opt out of the program.
The headline change was originally called out by fellow New Yorker Julian Wan:
So what was wrong with the original headline, “Immigrants are now canceling their food stamps for fear that Trump will deport them” – well for one, it was fairly easy to understand that they were referring to “illegals,” rather than simply “immigrants,” doing something illegal
