ANTI-whaling crusader (eco terrorist) Chris Watson and US actress Daryl Hannah (Hollyweird)will lead a new assault on the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean.
Hannah will join Mr Watson, captain of the Steve Irwin and founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and his crew on Operation Musashi, the society's fifth campaign to derail the annual Japanese whale hunt in Antarctic waters.
Pay-TV channel Animal Planet has sent a crew to film the campaign for the second season of its Whale Wars program, which airs in North America. The Steve Irwin will sail from Brisbane's Rivergate Marina at 1pm (AEST) on Wednesday.
Good. When the film is back it can be used to jail them for piracy
Mr Watson said the Japanese planned to slaughter 935 minke whales and 50 fin whales.
Last summer, Sea Shepherd activists Benjamin Potts, an Australian, and Briton Giles Lane were held captive for three days after they boarded a Japanese whaling vessel from the Steve Irwin.
They were lucky they did not swing from the yardarm.
The incident heightened diplomatic tensions between Australia and Japan over the whale hunt. In February last year, a Sea Shepherd vessel twice collided with a Japanese whaling vessel near a pod of whales.
Read as"deliberately rammed."
The group's activists dumped a foul-smelling acid on another whaling boat, slightly injuring two crew members. Japanese police are still investigating. Sea Shepherd's campaign saw the fleet return to Japan with 551 minke whales, just more than half of the planned catch.
The Australian government last summer sent a customs vessel to monitor the Japanese fleet in Australian Antarctic waters but will not do so this year.
We intend to let them incriminate themselves, then sit back and laugh

Who's "we"? If your government doesn't intend to uphold the spirit of the law on one hand, why should they interfere on the same issue on the other side, against Sea Shepherd?
I think I'll go buy something from their online shop. Need a new tuque.“When the doctor is out, I’m in.”

Apparently these "eco-terrorists" and "pirates" haven't been convicted of ANY crime in ANY nation and have a special place in the hearts of millions with thier television show on the Animal Planet.
Not so much love for the whalers of the nation that brought the world Unit 731 and the Rape of Nanking.
Why don't the Japanese take whales much closer to home? Because they are so contaminated with mercury that they are unfit for human consumption. Nobody needs to make a living off of dead whales and in fact live whales provide much more value to the economy. At least once every human should have to run for his life, to teach him that milk does not come from supermarkets, that safety does not come from policemen, that news is not something that happens to other people. ~ Robert Heinlein
