I was just talking to my sister up in Jersey
and she was aware of it this time unlike
Sandy. She said people are freaking at
even the slight chance of it going that way
and are going nuts at the gas stations.

Granddaughter is in Virginia, husbands on the carrier in Texas, a three year old. Got a call from her this morning. Headed to Walmart, diapers, dog and cat food, gas both cars. She is right on the coast, in the flood zone, and looking to bug out to an aunts house about two hundred miles away. Yep they are freaking.
I dream of the day a chicken can cross the road without it's motives being questioned.

Better to be a little cautious and prepared. It
isn't like people can't use the stuff anyways.

A CAT 5 isn't something to sneeze at
especially if it is a fast mover and can take
people by surprise if it changes course.

They will know more after the holiday
    weekend.

For some reason many of the models are
saying Irma will get to CAT 5.

Another YouTube I watched by the same guy
I posted earlier had the storm getting
up to 191 mph for a time.

The highest ranking storms that far north have never been above a cat-3 and most of those in the lower end of the class

    Another tropical threat brewing
Behind Irma, a disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms located hundreds of miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands will need to be monitored for potential development.
This system will move into a favorable environment for organizing and gaining strength as it moves to the west-northwest toward the Lesser Antilles during the middle and latter part of this week.
The next storm in the Atlantic Basin would acquire the name Jose.
