McCain on How He Wants to Be Remembered: He Served His Country Honorably

Sen. John McCain's (R., Ariz.) interview on CNN ended on a poignant note Sunday, as he told Jake Tapper he hoped to be remembered by the American people as someone who served his country with honor.

McCain is battling an aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma, which was discovered in July while the 80-year-old had surgery for a blood clot above his left eye.

"I hope this is not our last interview," Tapper said.

"A lot of people want it to be the last," McCain quipped.

The two men chuckled, before Tapper asked his last question of the interview: "How do you want the American people to remember you?"

"He served his country," McCain said. "And not always right, made a lot of mistakes. Made a lot of errors. But served his country, and I hope you could add honorably."

"I think that we can say honorably," Tapper said

No sympathy for this turd, I don't care if he's a veteran or not and being a POW does nothing to sway my opinion of the low life . My Brother once told me that often people never think of older people as being dishonorable and or even thieves. In fact there are many old thieves and dishonorable people in our country, and he is certainly one of them !

Well, voted for him in 2008 because from my time in Illinois, knew Obama would be a disaster. I always salute & appreciate his service to our country. Regardless of differences in ideology.

I also voted for him but held my nose. All it took for me to not acknowledge the "honorably" was to read his auto-biography.

He'll be remembered for becoming a Democrat. At least Arlen Specter publicly announced he was switching Parties.

I'd like to stick his head in the toilet and flush it repeatedly.

Also held my nose and voted for him as couldn't support Obama.

Just because someone gets old doesn't suddenly make them a saint. Young scoundrels usually become old scoundrels, just a sad fact of life.
