Actor Harry Dean Stanton, who crafted characters in classic films such as “Godfather: Part II,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “Pretty in Pink,” died Friday. He was 91.

Stanton passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

He recently appeared in the revival of “Twin Peaks,” which was released this summer. He’s also in the yet to be released Frank Sinatra movie “Frank and Ava.”

One of the best actors in history.

Repo Man was a masterpiece, for sure.

Paris, Texas... so many cult-performances, it's unreal. Two-Lane Blacktop... the dad in Red Dawn... Alien...

    Is there a TV-western and a TV-detective show that he didn't guest-star in??

He'd probably tell me to have another drink 'n go to hell, but R.I.P., Harry... Thanks for the inspo.

He was great in repo man. "Most people spend their lives avoiding tense situations but a repo man spends his life getting into tense situations."

He was in my favorite sick and twisted movie, Wild At Heart. His character dies a sick and twisted death, too. He was in Dune, too, among so many movies.

on edit, I was wrong about Dune, I sometimes get him and Dean Stockwell mixed up.
