NBC News’ Tom Brokaw claimed that President Donald Trump, and “some people on the right,” want “to destroy the prevailing culture in this country” during an interview Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The veteran NBC News journalist addressed the president’s ongoing feud with the National Football League that began Friday night at a raucous rally in Alabama. Trump took issue with NFL players who chose to protest racial injustice in the country by kneeling instead of standing for the national anthem, saying their coaches should fire them for disrespecting the anthem and the flag.

Brokaw bemoaned the damage he believes Trump and the conservative-populists have wreaked upon the Republican Party during and after the 2016 presidential election
What damage Tom, Swamp republicans (?) being exposed for what they really are?

What culture Tom, Hands up Don't shoot ?

The left had no problem when obama proclaimed he wanted to "fundamentally change America"...

"Even if Trump didn't pay Russian hookers to pee on one another to defile a bed the Obamas once slept on it sounds like something he would do and that's all that matters." DemocratSinceBirth, Wed Jan 11, 2017, 09:32 AM

I'll anxiously await to hear Brian Williams, Dan Rather, and the late Walter Cronkite & Peter Jennings opine before I give a crap about what Brokaw says.

As I sit here and think about the current state of the world and compare it to how things were when I was growing up I feel that the current culture needs to be destroyed. What was wrong is now right and what was called evil is now called good. Let the current culture burn...

Sorry, no. I would not give you a ha'penny for the lot of them.

    Brian Williams - 'Choppergate'

During the January 30, 2015, NBC Nightly News broadcast, Brian Williams referred to "a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of Iraq when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG." Williams later said he was not in the the helicopter that was hit by an RPG, but in a helicopter direclty behind it. The pilots of Williams' helicopter say their chopper was not directly behind the hit Chinook, but in a different company altogether.

    SEAL Team 6

During the May 3, 2011, NBC Nightly News broadcast, Williams said that he had "the great honor of flying into Baghdad with [SEAL Team 6] at the start of the war." A Special Operations Command spokesman has told Huffington Post: "We do not embed journalists with this or any other unit that conducts counter-terrorism missions." Said another SEAL officer to CNN: "That early in the conflict, there were only missions taking place, not bouncing between outstations."

    The Berlin Wall

At a 2008 forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Williams said that he "was at the Brandenburg Gate the night the [Berlin] wall came down." As CNN reports, "'the night the wall came down' is widely recognized as November 9, 1989. ... An NBC News source in a position to know confirmed to CNNMoney that "Brian arrived the day after the wall came down."

Dan Rather - separated from his position as the Ron Burgundy of CBS and forced to seek refuge in low-rated cable. Behold, he is risen . . . on something called “The Big Interview” on AXS TV, which is one step up from Wayne’s World on public-access TV. Dan’s next episode features a chat with Sheryl Crow. Recent guests include Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top), Crystal Gayle, and Kid Rock.

Walter Cronkite - cut a deal with Pan Am to fly his family to vacation spots around the world. Together with a handful of friends, they roamed from the South Pacific to Haiti, with Cronkite snorkeling, swimming, and drinking, thanks to a friend at the airline.

the man who once dominated television journalism was more complicated—and occasionally more unethical—than the legend that surrounds him - he secretly bugged a committee room at the 1952 GOP convention - the dogged reporting in Vietnam that helped turn the country against the war

Four years later, after Cronkite had belatedly turned against LBJ’s Vietnam War, he met privately with Robert Kennedy. “You must announce your intention to run against Johnson, to show people there will be a way out of this terrible war,” he said in Kennedy’s Senate office. Soon afterward, Cronkite got an exclusive interview in which Kennedy left the door open for a possible run—the very candidacy that the anchor had urged him to undertake. (Kennedy announced three days later.) I am shaking my head at the spectacle of a network anchor secretly urging a politician to mount a White House campaign—and then interviewing him about that very question. This was duplicitous, a major breach of trust.

Cronkite blatantly manipulated an interview with LBJ shortly before Johnson died. According to Brinkley, his producer spliced the footage in unflattering ways, reshooting Cronkite asking the questions so it appeared that he was nodding or raising his eyebrows in disgust when Johnson talked about Vietnam. LBJ saw a rough cut and pronounced it “dirty pool”

Peter Jennings - I could say a lot about his pro-Palestinian, anti SwiftVets, pro Sandinista government, etc, etc, etc but I heard him knowingly lie directly about W on 9/11 and he was never called on it.

You implicitly allude to a transformative era; some 250 years past.
Reflect a moment on the following timeline.
Around 3500 BC, the Sumerians of the Fertile Crescent developed the earliest form of organized culture/society.
Whether the structure be Monarchy, Oligarchy, or some other; the common goal was to encourage Man's creative
impulse, thereby improving his worldly existence; while never loosing sight of his other worldly needs and obligations.
This continued for more than 5000 years till the French Enlightenment; a fundamental revolt against tradition,
spawning progressivism and birthing the twin secular heresies of Marxism and Socialism.
We are where we are and who we are now; because of the impact of that time in history; and hardly for the better.

Why does Brokaw care about what happens to the Republican party? I have no respect for that man.
