I'm amazed that a couple of them actually understand the First Amendment.

What the players and the owners and the league have forgotten is that this profession is completely based on fan support. Alienate the fans and they walk away then it doesn't matter how good you can throw, catch or run with a football. These skills would have no venue to be exhibited and wouldn't be able to get the player a job paying minimum wage.

Players, if the fans want you to stand for the National Anthem then stand otherwise you end up flipping burgers at a fast food restaurant (at least until the robots replace you.) When your platform to protest is also your platform for income then follow this basic philosophy, don't shit where you eat.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

The only winners, if you can call them that, will be those who took their education seriously in college and graduated with a marketable degree. There are some....

CTE is going to kill football, sooner or later. The autopsy of the player who was convicted of murder is going to cause mothers everywhere to refuse to let their sons play the sport at the K-12 level. Then there won't be enough players with the skills to play at the college and pro levels, and everyone will finally embrace soccer, as we liberals have been plotting with FIFA for decades. You know, to make the US more European.

It can't be soccer!!! There are studies about the effects of heading those soccer balls. My grandson would be happy if soccer were more popular. He's 8 and really good. The little 7 year old granddaughter's soccer team won 6-0 on Sunday. She scored 3 of the goals herself. It was raining, but that didn't stop those little girls. St Louis is a big soccer town.

I'm going to make a prediction.

The players will make a large group "Protest" to test the owner's resolve in this.

Will be interesting to see if the owners will stand with this or buckle.
