On this year's White House Christmas tree will hang a most unusual ornament: a bulb saluting efforts to impeach President George W. Bush.

    Photo of Tree Ornament :http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl...hite-House.htm

A bulb by Washington state artist Deborah Lawrence is decorated with pictures and text commending Rep. Jim McDermott's (D-Wash.) efforts to impeach the president, the Washington Post reported. First Lady Laura Bush asked McDermott to select a local artist to decorate bulbs for the tree, and McDermott selected Lawrence.

"I was at first nauseated, then realized it was an opportunity…to highlight Jim McDermott because he's a hero of mine," Debora Lawrence said.

"It really is too bad," said Sally McDonough, a spokeswoman for the First Lady. "I haven't seen the ornament, but I would hope that no one would take this as an opportunity to be divisive and partisan. There is a time and place for everything, and I don't think this is either."

To the extremely negative, "What a loser! No decency or civility. Because you don't get your way you feel you can act rude and hostile. That is the problem with this country. Too many people like Deborah Lawrence. Debate rages here, what do you think? What an ugly cow !

ahh, the ever present love and forgivness of our left leaning brothers and sisters. Taking the opportunity to turn what should be a joyous holiday celebration, into a shallow self-serving display of intollerance. Thank you Deborah Lawrence for showing us that hate filled artists can still get decent work instead of relying on government grants to live….. wait… the government paid you to spew your bilious excrement upon a symbol of peace and forgiving.

You know, I don't know who to more upset with. This clown McDermott who completely spit in Laura's face or Laura for asking a man who tried to impeach her husband for this "favor". I mean really, what is it about the Bush's that they insist on loving those that hate them? I guess that whole Christian thing. As for the Dems, what do you expect? Swine.

She gets a chance to have her work put on the White House Christmas tree and it leaves her "nauseated". Seems like that would have been a clue to let someone else take advantage of the opportunity.

Awwww, yes. Another sparkling example of who is truly "meanspirited". And it does raise the question as to why we bend over so far to appease those who clearly have no tolerance for opposing opinions! Hooray for bi-partisanship!

This should not suprise anyone. The left cannot seperate politics from anything. They take the saying that "all politics are local" to "ALL are politics". This is the difference between the left and right, the left will fight for their way at every instance and the right will cave on every issue. The republican view of bipartisan is "ok, we'll compromise". The democraps view is similar but the slightly different "ok,you'll compromise". Can you think of one issue that the left has not eventully got their way. Sometimes it takes years but it comes about.

Very cool. I hope they hang it in a place of honor. Maybe next to Slick Willies Cigar ornament or the one with a picture of Monica's stained Dress. Dumbocraps, can't live with them and you can't flush them.

Maybe Barney can knock it off the tree and break it!

    Comment by Friar — December 3, 2008 @ 9:47 am

This is so typical of the left. And so course the MSM will celebrate this act as an expression of free speak and a profile of courage. The ornament should be flushed down a toliet. I have never been so disusted with the liberals as I am now.

What to you expect from a liberal. All they stand for is their own self-interests. Maybe some of George's NRA buddies can use it for target practice.

I wonder what the over/under is on how many years the far left will continue trying to impeach W after he has left office?

You beat me to it. :P

Libs, especially those suffering from extreme BDS, see EVERYTHING as an opprotunity to be divisive and partisan.

Ralph, like I said in another thread, someday, a moonbat will get busted trying to dig up the grave of an ex president. Set up outside the cemetery will be a courtroom of cardboard boxes, with a jury box full of either other moonbats or partially assembled mannequins. As the police haul the moonbat off, he just keeps screaming "CHIMPEACHMENT CHIMPEACHMENT!"

Seattle ornament banned from White House Christmas tree

When Seattle artist Deborah Lawrence was asked to create an ornament for a holiday tree at the White House, nobody familiar with her work could have imagined she'd stick to snowmen, Santa Claus or Mount Rainier bathed in festive red, white and blue.

The 9-inch ball Lawrence created is covered with swirly red and white stripes and features a picture of Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott of Seattle, who signed a House resolution to consider the impeachment of President George W. Bush. Tiny glued-on text on the ornament hails the impeachment resolution.

"I think it really is a shame and, quite frankly, not very much in the holiday spirit," first lady Laura Bush's spokeswoman, Sally McDonough, told The Associated Press.

McDonough said Tuesday that Lawrence's ornament was the only one of about 370 submitted for the White House tree that was rejected. Laura Bush had asked members of Congress to pick artists to decorate ornaments for the White House tree to showcase all 435 congressional districts.

    *sigh*

This is exactly the kind of Mean Girls stunt that gives Baby Boomers and their self-centered worldview such a bad name. I have to say this:

    Grow the fuck up!

Your generation is just about to bankrupt Social Security and you are still s******ing and smirking in the idealogical toilet because you just invented "politics" or "protest" or "social issues" or "sex". It's maddening that this generation has totally deconsructed real 'liberalism' and supplanted it with sly tricks and childish revenge schemes. These tiny-minded social parasites can't even pretend to win gracefully.

    There! I feel better now.

Some people can't be happy unless they hate someone. It seems I see that more on the left than the right. Jesus Christ.
