Well, our formerly reliable FBI has just botched another investigation.

They waited too long to 'break-into' the killer's phone. Apple installed a 48-hour thumbprint-ID gateway on their products after San Bernardino... and was waiting for the FBI to call. They didn't. The gateway closed. Apple had designed it specifically to the FBI's newly-approved protocol.

I guess today they were whining at Apple like San Bernardino never happened. Pretty disgraceful. If the killer did have accomplices, there's been plenty of time to destroy evidence.
