Former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta has a lot of explaining to do. When the infamous Trump dossier was published, the former chairman said that he didn’t know who paid Fusion GPS to do that.

In fact, he went in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee and confirmed that. He is about to be in a world of trouble as a new report from the New York Times shows that Podesta met with the founder of the firm after the document was published. So what is the real story here?

Podesta’s associate told the paper that Glenn Simpson and Podesta met to compare notes about Russia’s supposed meddling in the election. Allegedly, the associate said that Simpson was considering if his firm should continue the supposed Trump ties to Russia.

What it does not say is if Podesta or Simpson had discussed the Clinton campaign’s involvement in the dossier.

Last month, it was revealed that the law firm representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, Perkins Coie, was responsible for hiring Fusion GPS to investigate Trump.

Perkins Coie paid Fusion GPS just over $1 million for their work.
