Had my weekly evening show last night. In was 0° when I got there at 6:15, -7° by the time I left at 10:45. Don't even know what the wind chill was, probably -15/-20. Got home & climbed underneath a giant pile of blankets.

It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

I'm about three hundred miles east of you and the same here, they are showing 19 as the lowest but it is never correct anyway so always just make the figure lower and you will be right for my area, Baton Rouge is east of me and I get their weather report but it never is accurate for me. My Truck is now dry so the winds have dried out the mist earlier and now the cold will slowly start creeping in. Been a stiff breeze all morning, I went out and covered one faucet with paper towel tubes I just cut long wise and then just slipped them over the pipe, I don't expect to have any trouble since I always keep a good slow stream of water on when it freezes, I have had these lower temps and did the same and never had anything freeze but when I do see these 20 degree readings I go the extra mile and keep the hot water side at a slow run also, it don't drain the tank and helps to keep the hot water side from not freezing, even a hot water side if long enough will freeze without any movement of the water. I think I am ready like it or not, I know I will be sleeping in the next couple mornings, glad I canceled a Dr's appt for the third it will have to wait until the temps get higher.

Didn't Al Gore say that the polar ice cap would be gone by now.

Maybe he could move here to Connecticut. I have a lovely 10 degree non-sunny day to deal with,

Where is that bottle of bourbon ?

We already reached our "high" of negative 3, down to -17° overnight. Yeah, this is fun. Furnace is set at 67, been timing it. It runs for 15 minutes, off for 15, back on, etc.

    Serenity now!
