Oh Mercy! Eighteen degrees on Monday, huh? Not pleasant!
Hopefully, you at least tried to dry it somewhere *indoors* with the help of a high setting on a hair dryer!
I won't tell you what the temp is going down to tonight in Florida where we are, 'cause you would only laugh ...
But must tell you back when we lived in Winnipeg, Canada for 3 long years, many years ago ...
We experienced a high of -20 in the winter at times. We even had to plug in the car battery at night to stop the block (???) or whatever it was from freezing/cracking ...
I haven't the foggiest, but we used to do it anyway!
So yes, I do know what frigid, even below zero temps are like to live with, and don't miss them in the least!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hang in there darlin' and do your best to keep warm ...
Am sure the promised, dreaded, catastrophic "Global Warming" should kick in any day now!

I miss a few things about the Midwest, but after enjoying a 72 degree day outside today I can only remember what I do not miss.
It's currently 48 degrees outside at almost 2 AM.

It's sad to see the TV coming out of Mobile, Alabama. They had some poor, shivering woman standing out in the "blizzard", not wearing gloves as anyone from the North would know to do, telling the viewers to look up at the lights, so you can see the snow.
While she's saying that, the camera man is panning on guys in a super market parking lot bringing in the shopping carts. She kept saying to look at the snow, then they showed the Cowboy Gas Station. Finally they showed a couple snowflakes.
To get those pics of snow, they had to drive God only knows how many miles to a very small town. The sky is falling, the sky is falling, chicken little.
(I know that it's scary if it actually does sleet this far south. The road crews aren't equipped to handle it) .
