British family's £4m Marbella villa trashed after 400 Facebook revellers crash girl's 16th birthday party

When Amanda Hudson agreed to let her daughter hold a 16th birthday bash at their £4.4million home in Marbella, Spain, she knew it wasn't going to be just jelly and ice cream.

But the last thing the real estate agent expected was for 400 revellers to turn up and turn the luxury villa into a gatecrashers' party from hell.

That however, was before her daughter Jodie – a private schoolgirl – announced the do on her page of social networking sites Bebo and Facebook.

Calling it the 'party of the year', she posted the address on the sites and told her 'friends' that 'There's going be a lot of alcohol and an amazing DJ'.

To make things worse, the word somehow went around that the owners didn't mind the seven-bedroom mansion being trashed because they were “getting divorced”.

Despite Jodie's mother being present, teenagers from all over the Costa del Sol turned up on motorbikes and quad bikes. Teenagers from all over the Costa del Sol turned up

But the partygoers ransacked the luxury property - leaving the family with an uninhabitable home.

Dozens of items, including a TV, were thrown in the pool, £6,000 of jewellery was stolen and even half a wardrobe's worth of clothes were pinched. Police were eventually called by Jodie's mother to frisk anyone leaving the house for other valuables.

A pair of squad cars arrived at just after midnight, as the party was in full swing.

One partygoer said: 'People scarpered in all directions, but the police managed to pull people over and search their bags and pockets, but it was already too late and a lot was gone.

'Somebody said that we were allowed to wreck the house because the birthday girl's parents were getting divorced and there were kids behaving like gangsters from a rap video, throwing stuff around and smashing things.
How stupid can parents be? Surely they could have afforded private security. The girl is totally unrepentant, of course. Many, many debauched teen partier pics at link.

Wasn't there an incident similar to this a few months ago?
A girl was mad at her parents, so she threw a huge party while they were out, eventually gate crashers took over and pretty much leveled the house.

At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

The girl was 16! The mother was on site yet waited until midnight to call police? As someone else stated, why didn't she have professional private security? Either the mother is a total airhead or she didn't care until things went totally nuts.
I've had a 16 year old daughter. I wouldn't have turned a 4 million $ estate over to her for a party.
