Washington (CNN)An emergency alert notification sent out on Saturday claiming a "ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii" was a false alarm, according to the Hawaii Office of Emergency Management and a tweet from one of the state's Democratic congresswomen.

"BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL," the emergency alert read.

While the message caused concern on social media, the Hawaii Office of Emergency Management quickly responded on Twitter, saying, "NO missile threat to Hawaii."
    Of course it's Trump's fault...

I bet it scared the hair off Michelle Obama's back if they were there at the time.

If you think their missile alert system is bad you should see their birth certificate system.

The person that pushed the button should be hung. I see no redemption here.

Close to a million people believed they were going to be nuked.

How many 'last goodbyes' went out across the Country? How many heart-attacks and acts of desperation? The 38-minutes also included early-warning sirens that were activated after the false-alarm notices first trickled-out. Those EW-staffs should be fired immediately... or subjected to grueling interrogation, with severe cuts in pay.

Hawaii is a Dem/blue State from top to bottom. Now they've irreversibly damaged the credibility of its early-warning protocol. And the Governor's press-conference was a miasma of ass-covering.

The Hawaiian government has said it was a mistake. Was it? Or did some low-level twerp make a political "statement"? As crazy as that sounds, it should be considered as the government of Hawaii investigates how it happened and their system could be improved.

I had several running friends on Maui doing a Marathon. The race was interrupted, and of course runners, supporting spectators, and race volunteers and organizer people were scared.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out or if
it's already forgotten in the speedy US news cycle.

I've seen the interview with the little old guy who
looks like Mr. Miagi who said he is responsible, he
didn't say he pushed the button though unless that
    has changed.

This event probably gave a lot of people an
excuse to start drinking early though...

Hey! I just remembered, we have a member on the
islands, hai. Check in you Furry bastard!!!
May the FORCE be with you!
