    Based on my experience, you are right, but it removes students who are making it difficult for teachers to teach and for students to learn. We have plenty of kids who try to get sent home during the day, but we also have principals who recognize that suspending those kids is just rewarding the behavior. If I can teach around them, I do, and often the attention getting behaviors stop, because its not getting the desired effect.

    Mass action sends a message. No, many kids and parents won't get the message, but some will. If the principal does it a few more times, I'd bet a few bucks it will have a significant affect on the school.
