Trump plans to put a 25% tariff on steel products imported to the US.

    I love it!

All the news stories only say how it is such a bad idea. How it will hurt us and disrupt commerce.

LET IT! That is why we elected Trump! To disrupt the status quo!

This country has gone through far worse disruption and continues to go through huge disruption that NO ONE wants. YET, we never got to vote on those decisions and we don't like any of them. Having things shoved down our throats year after year with no say what so ever. And if you do say something, you are silenced immediately.

I think the tariffs are neat and if there is a bad ripple from them, I'm sure it will work its way out in time. Take a stand.

We can choose what we do: right or wrong, we can choose!

    I love Trump!

I don't have a problem with it, but he hasn't officially finalized it yet.

Even so, his announcement has already turned Canada's Trudeau into an incoherent 9-year-old:

Suddenly all the Leftist pundits and the sort of Republican that wants illegals for cheap labor are screaming about tariffs being horrible. In looking at our Depression history, yes, there is a case to make that progressive rounds of protective and reprisal tariffs broke international markets then, but the other side of the coin is that all our trading partners employ them now to keep out US manufactured goods to protect their own industry. It isn't 'Sound economic policy' to have no tariffs yourself, while everyone else is using them to close their markets to you.

I don't know if he's actually gone off his cookie or if this is a play to get these countries to renegotiate NAFTA and such.

Reducing the cost of regulations will off set the cost of tariffs.
A country that can not make it's on steel, is just land to be conquered.

    You like paying taxes?

You can send extra money to the government, you know, without screwing everyone else.

Do yourself a favor, just don't. Trying to debate this fleebmaster, well, remember the old adage of not arguing with idiots? You know, how they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience? That's him in a nutshell.

    It's literally a tax.
