Tony Perkins: Liberals Are Using Trumps Porn Star Affair To Shame Evangelicals For Their Political

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, who hosts a daily radio show on behalf of the anti-LGBTQ hate group, said that recent media criticism about the Religious Right’s quick dismissal of President Trump’s alleged affair with a porn star was simply an effort to “shame evangelicals for their political participation.”

Yesterday, Perkins told “Washington Watch” listeners that he was going to take “a little different track” on that episode because he felt the need to address the fact that some members of the media have called out the Religious Right’s support of Trump in spite of the fact that news has come to light about a $130,000 payout reportedly meant to keep adult-film actress Stephanie Clifford (whose stage name is Stormy Daniels) silent about an alleged affair with Trump. In particular, Perkins wanted to address a long-form essay by columnist Michael Gerson that mentioned Perkins’ “mulligan” remarks about Trump’s alleged affair and noted that one could “only imagine the explosion of outrage if President Barack Obama had been credibly accused of similar offenses.” Perkins and his counterparts, indeed, spent much of the past administration questioning Obama’s Christianity and moral character.

Perkins warned listeners that “the intensity” of media criticism for standing by Trump’s adultery was increasing but told them to dismiss it as an attack on evangelical voters.

“The intensity of this is growing and this is an effort to shame evangelicals for their political participation. And since I’ve spent the last 25 years, since I left the law enforcement realm and entered into the political realm both in activism and in public office, is to bring Christians to an understanding of what our role is, and our role is to be salt in the light,” Perkins said. “Now, first and foremost, that is to take the gospel to people—living it out.”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! You're doing a perfectly good job of shaming yourselves, guys! You don't need our help! Thanks for playing the blame game Tony, we have some lovely parting gifts for you!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! The point is - IT ISN'T WORKING. Evangelicals have just as much right to participate in the political process and chose who they want to vote for and/or support. And liberals lying, twisting things and digging up dirt on Republicans and then trying to shame Evangelicals and demanding they vote the way liberals say they should (or not vote at all, which is a vote for the idiot Democrat) doesn't change that.

And that is why liberals are so angry and HATEFUL toward Evangelicals. They thought that they could manipulate them and they have found that most cannot be manipulated.

    2. Sorry Tony. Your God is shaming your hypocritical ass.
As if the God hating liberals who think that abortion, homosexuality, trans and every other immoral sexual deviancy is 'part of God's plan' and to be celebrated have any authority to speak to the issue.

    5. Family Research Council, my ass

Perkins cares about no family other than his own (and maybe not even all of them, who knows?), does no research (quoting appropriate bible passages when scamming the public for money on TV ain't "research," you fraud), and it is no council.

    11. Hes right

Shaming them for their hypocritical political views is EXACTLY what we’re trying to do with the Stormy Daniels thing.

Note to evangelicals: despite what Tony Perkins is telling you, it’s not liberals who are making you feel guilty and confused. That’s your conscience.

    13. Why yes, yes we are Tony

Because your behavior is shameful. It's not your participation in the political process, it's the manner in which you participate. It demonstrates a complete lack of morals and principles and a charming susceptibility to manipulation by the most evil forces in our society.
That would be the far left, and no he's not allowing himself to be manipulated by their evil forces.

    14. Yes, Tony, we are

But dude, come on: You're supporting a guy who repeatedly fucked a porn star while his wife was at home recovering from the birth of his own son. If that's what you count as "political participation" then you deserve to be shamed for it.
But the Hillybitch who lied, set up pay to play schemes for financial gain, berated her predator husbands accusers for political gain, set up an unsecured home server to bypass FOIA requests and deliberately careless about security regarding top secret and confidential information putting our national security at risk is sooooooooooo much better.

Not to mention the way The Black *ss politicized every government agency he could which the Hillybitch was planning to continue to do.

    16. hypocrits do not like their hyopcricy illuminated

Religious right do not get to get away with pretending to be godlike or Christlike only when it suits them. Surely, they individually understand that?
They really hate it that they cannot manipulate Christians into voting the way they want them to. Christians are like anyone else. They will vote for the person who best aligns with their beliefs. At this point many of them have decided it is President Trump, despite his faults. And that decision is not hypocritical or something to be ashamed of.

Some liberals thought it would be easy to manipulate Christians and they are mad to the point of being enraged that it isn't working.

As someone who supported Ben Carson but voted for Trump, I will say this: with Carson, I would have gotten a good man as president. With Trump, I knew there would be skeletons typical for a big business type. I simply didn't care. I wanted what was best for the country.

Now, if the DUmmies are getting their panties in a wad over this, I will remind them that Bill Clinton actually RAPED women and their virtue signalling feminists and blacks had no problem keeping a rapist in office because it dovetailed with their agenda of killing babies and free giveaways. If I have to disregard someone's behavior for the good of the country, I would rather it be over a consensual sexual tryst than over RAPE.
