    Stephen Hawking, the brightest star in the firmament of science, whose insights shaped modern cosmology and inspired global audiences in the millions, has died aged 76.

    His family released a statement in the early hours of Wednesday morning confirming his death at his home in Cambridge.

    R.I.P.... I think he departs with most of his original reputation intact. He'd begun to descend into pedestrian atheism and leftist climate-absurdity.

    That is really my only negative comment about Hawking. He started developing various theories concerning the beginning of the universe that were harder to accept than the universe being a creation of God.

    With all his disabilities I would think he was taking some very powerful mind altering drugs, that would explain some of his wild imagination maybe ?

    I may have disagreed with him on some things but it's still a shame. I still think for the most part he had one hell of a mind and hey, 76 years old is a damned good run for someone with that condition.
