whoa. whats THIS all about.
Advertisements [?]Yesterday morning, early, I posted an inquiry and explained to a few people that my family just found out, through dna analysis, that we are about 85% Ashkenazi jewish.
............
I called my brother today and asked him how he has been doing with his newfound lineage.
He said "Well, basically, my wifes family is freaking out."
"What??" I asked him "Whats their problem?"
"well, " he said "They just sat and looked at me, like they were in shock, and said 'you have JEW blood in you??' ". Now they wont even talk to me.Donald Ian Rankin (1000+ posts) Wed Sep-03-08 12:51 PM

16. well, yesterday I went to WalMart
and on the way out, the greeter yelled "Merry Christmas!!" and I, with my new identity now bubbling , yelled back "Happy Hannukah!"
even tho, of course, I have never had a Hannukah celebration in my life. But it made more sense then ever to say that yesterday.walldude (1000+ posts) Fri Dec-12-08 04:12 PM

20. LOL. Careful, you don't want to wish a Happy Hannukah

What till she finds out that Jesus is the KING of the Jews.
At least once every human should have to run for his life, to teach him that milk does not come from supermarkets, that safety does not come from policemen, that news is not something that happens to other people. ~ Robert Heinlein

How does one become 85% Jewish? That's an odd percentage.

... and besides, as any good Jew would tell you, "jewish" is only passed down through the mother. Even if you can get past the fact that "Jewish" is a relgon, not a nationality.

And very high for someone who's family had no idea they were Jewish. That would mean that her Jewish lineage would have to marry Jews and no one had any idea that they were 100% Jewish on both sides. Every couple of generations would then have married a non-Jew. Everyone involved thinking they were "European Catholics" and not knowing they were 100% Jewish.
I smell bullshit here.Last edited by BSR; 12-13-2008 at 08:50 PM.
