    I use DDG and Start Page. They have served me well enough. As for a browser, I like the functionality of Chrome, but I hate Google and their spying, so being a Linux user I use Chromium and trust that the Linux developers maintain a less intrusive version.

    I switched to Opera. So far I like it very much.

    Escaping the clutches of Google is very hard. They seem to have their fingers in a lot of pies with no other alternatives for the same service. My biggest grip is YouTube. I love YouTube and use it daily for everything from entertainment to education. What I hate about it is how they suppress a lot of conservative points of view and give liberals pretty much free reign to say and post about anything. So far I have found no alternative service that can complete with YouTube.
