Too bad SF was not part of Cal. Most states get screwed by these leftists ought to split off. Rural American gets screwed by these large metro areas, especially when it comes to firearms.

I don't see anything coming of it. Both sides have their reasons for supporting it, so it has a fairly good chance of passing, but I just don't think it'll go anywhere after that.

Might not be enough Conservatives to do it alone, but there is a growing split in Cal to get Dems to agree with it. N. California is strong Conservative that it is almost alien to those in the bay area, and both want to part ways with each other.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. --
A proposal to divide California into three states is now eligible for the November statewide ballot.

Backers of CAL 3 said last month they collected and delivered 600,000 signatures to California Secretary of State Alex Padilla's Office, surpassing the 365,000 required by law to qualify for the ballot.

Yeah, but then they'd have 6 senators. [Two for each new state].

If I understand correctly, even if the vote would pass, it'll take a decade or so before it could possibly be constitutionally allowed. Perhaps someone else knows further details.
