Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump announced on Friday he ordered strikes on the Syrian regime's chemical weapons facilities in coordination with France and the United Kingdom in response to a chemical weapons attack last weekend.

"I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapon capabilities of Syrian dictator of Bashar al-Assad," Trump said from the White House Diplomatic Reception Room.

Witnesses told CNN that they heard explosions in the capital city of Damascus and that they began while Trump was making his address.

US aircraft -- including B-1 bombers -- and ships were used in the attack, according to multiple US defense officials.

    Go USA.
May the FORCE be with you!

What shocks me is the French stepping up. They're usually the first country to go running in the other direction. Remember France not allowing our bombers to fly over their airspace when we bombed Libya?

Great Presidential appearance and great Pentagon press-conference last night.

It's been 10-hours... and Russia is the toothless tiger they've been all along. They weren't expecting B-1 bombers to get-into the act.

JUST IN: Russia didn't activate their radar-systems.

Because US, UK, French aircraft are equipped with Wild Weasel defense-countermeasures. Turn-on your radar and you're dead.

Russia couldn't export a cabbage before it spoiled, the propaganda is their real expertise and no more. So little has been reported about the killing of over 200 Russians dressed as mercenaries in Syria. They were going to attack the American base they surrounded but within 30 minutes that was how many that were now dead and were flown back to Russia on the midnight flight, same as they did in Afghanistan. They found out the hard way this is not the Ukraine and their silly bullshit don't cut it with the US. They were using artillery to fire on the American base and the air power in the theater pounced on them like flies on stink. Kill a couple hundred more and it won't take long before you see a regime change in Russia like we saw before. I find it so silly to hear these Russians cry about this strike when they have been caught and punished for using chemical weapons against their own in foreign countries, it is the ultimate rick roll when you see putin open his mouth. It's like they actually believe someone out there believes what he says. They shoot down civilian airlines and poison people assassinate people, it's an insult to everyone's intelligence to hear them in the UN as they are now this morning crying about Syria. They are so ineffective they wouldn't even turn on their radars for fear of losing them last night with the weasels in the air. I feel sure we have some democrats that just love them. Last night it was Assad ducking and whispering "WTFWT"

Beside the humanitarian benefits there is a clear message to both Rocketman and the Mullahs: Russia is a paper tiger and the United States is not.

The coalition was in-and-out in 10-minutes.

Then Syria fired 45 SAMS wildly in every direction, hitting nothing.

That is a carbon-copy of how Iran would react. Bank on it.
