    I linked this site in response to SR posting up the unemployment index. Then I started wandering around on it. There is a lot of good stuff and a lot of clarity presented in re the numbers. In particular is the chart I noted in the previous post - employment participation in the last 75 years or so.

    This definitely tracks the increased participation of females and the passage of the baby boomers thru the employment years.

    “The participation rate is a measure of the active portion of an economy's labor force. It refers to the number of people who are either employed or are actively looking for work.”

    Interesting the range is in tenths. With a range of four tenths over the last year. Was not able to expand to cover multiple years, would be interested on how that looks. How long has it been in the the 60% percentile?

    From this page click “max” below the graph. Goes to 1950. It hit 60 about 1988, stayed in the 60s until 2009 then back down into the 50s until last year.
