John McCain has always opposed the use of torture. He was tortured. He doesn't want his country to do the things that 3rd world countries do.

The hatred and death wishing here is worthy of DU.

We were just kidding when we said we were going to name bathrooms after him.

My mother (58) my sister (24) my nephew (36) my two best friends in high school (60) all died of cancer.

I'm happy Teddy Kennedy went out that way and I wish McCain the same as my family and friends - long and painful.

What people seem to forget is that terrorist scum
and enemies of this country don't give a rats ass about
our "goody two shoes" morals on torture.

If you seriously believe that us not doing "torture" will
stop them from doing it to us, you are delusional.

Dick Cheney's answer on this was the correct one.

Opposing the use of torture is not about whether the terrorists are scumbags. It's about who we are as a nation. I concede that waterboarding is not exactly the Khmer Rouge method of wiring electricity to people's genitals, but it's still torture. And, as far as putting people in uncomfortable confined places, I remember reading about how the Nazis used that method on prisoners in WWII.

Their holding up Kahlid Sheik Mohammad as a victim. They're defending one of the most notorious terrorists in history as a sympathetic victim. That is the Democrat party.

    I like this solution

My solution to the problem would be to tell the North Vietnamese Communists frankly that they've got to drawn in their horns and stop their aggression or we're going to bomb them into the stone age.

They could set him afire and throw him out of a flying chopper, and it'd be fine with me. Oooh, the Sheikh, that is, not McCain...

McCain's experience was just pretty typical of any Europeans captured by East Asian countries at war since 1900. In general they treat other East Asians even worse. And it's not just Communists, the Chinese and Japanese weren't any better than the Commies on that score. The Jihadis on the other hand mostly kill all their prisoners with as much horror and bloodshed as (In)humanly possible except for a percentage that get a chance to join up instead of sudden bloody death. Once you separate the gunpoint conscripts from the hardcore, no human consideration is deserved.

    NEWS FLASH: It ain't torture.

McCain is a hypocrite PERIOD He is driven by his all consuming envy and hatred of the President. He voted to confirm Brennan who was a supporter of enhances interrogation. These people don't know what morality is. They make me sick. I've given McCain the benefit of the doubt for many years however his VietNam service doesn't give him a lifetime pass. He was, once upon a time, a patriot.
