I'm glad that we have natural gas in our house in Missouri. It should be less expensive to install a whole house generator. I'm surprised that more houses in Florida don't have natural gas. It's more expensive to use electric heat and AC. We priced a whole house generator in Sarasota, and were shocked at the price. They had to put an underground tank in the yard and then have the propane delivered. That plus the price of the generator was prohibitive.

I've had power out in St Louis for well over a week during an ice storm, so it would be good for any season
